Internships

Shuffle Presents

This logo was designed when I did an internship at Shuffle Presents. I was tasked with creating logos for their upcoming podcasts at the beggining of this year. This podcast was about three Latin-x hosts providing a cultural lens on pop culture, dating, family, and more. Working with this company was really awesome, it gave me a bit of insight of what it would be like to work as graphic designer for a company.

Morning Walk

During my internship at Morning Walk, my responsibilities included designing logos and promotional materials for various marketing projects. One of the tasks I had was to use Adobe XD to create wireframes for a website called Jones Dairy Farm which we were in the process of revamping to make it more contemporary and visually appealing. Although my internship concluded after three months, I didn't have the opportunity to further contribute to the website's design. However, I did manage to create a few XD animations for a specific section of the site. I have included a template below that I had planned to utilize for the website.

Draper & Mortgage Corp.

While working full-time at Draper & Mortgage Corp. I worked on a wide range of projects. From designing email header images to creating animation for certain logos and text. My main focus was coding emails and making sure they were mobile responsive on all browsers and as well as email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo!, Outlook, etc. There were also times where I worked in website using WordPress and Elementor which you can view below. All logos and content belong to Draper & Mortgage Corp. I do not own them.

Memorial Day Social Posts & Email

While at Draper & Mortgage Corp. I was tasked with creating a header image about Memorial Day. I started to do some research on what to create using Google Search Engine, Adobe Stock as well as Unsplash. I gathered many images sent them over to the senior graphic designer for approval. Upon approval she loved the image viewed below. I added in the company logo as well as text about Memorial Day. I then sized and designed them using dimensions for Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook for posting. After that I created the email that would be sent out from many loan officer accounts to whom they wanted it to be sent to.

Redesigned Email for Loan Officer

While at Draper & Mortgage Corp. I was tasked with redesigning an email for a loan officer. He often had emails go out every Friday to talk about weekly mortgage rates that were changing. My manager wanted a new look for the chart they had before. I went in and re-coded a brand new chart and made sure it was responsive. I also decided to create a section within the body of the paragraph where he can place in a quote about anything as well as a cartoon image that I would create using a template from Adobe Stock. I took bits and pieces to go with the theme of his quote. After I created the design I would send it over to my manager for approval and then send it over to the requester after it got approved. You can view the content below.

What's New Header Animation

While I was desigining this for the loan officer I created a new header image using motion. I obtain some guidance from my manager and went on Adobe Stock and Envato Elements to find a video of a computer on a desk scene. I took the idea of "what's new" from the previous email and created a text animation in Adobe After Effects and tracked the scene using the motion tracker feature found within the software and created a new screen using the company colors. I then placed in the text animation over the new screen and created this motion graphic for the header image. I converted it to a GIF since some emails don't read video so well.

Cartoon Email

After the email was fully coded and ready to go I searched Adobe Stock to find bits and pieces of elements to use in the cartoon image. I wanted it to fit the theme of the quote that this person gave me.

Everspring Partners

While working at Everspring Partners, I was responsible for designing Zoom backgrounds and social media posts for different schools. I thoroughly studied the brand guidelines of each school and ensured that my content aligned with their branding. Here are the projects that I had the pleasure of working on.

Zoom Backgrounds

When I initially took on this project, my first step was to conduct thorough research on the images suitable for the Zoom backgrounds. I explored various school databases provided by the universities to locate images of the school buildings. However, there were a few databases where I couldn't find the desired images, so I resorted to utilizing stock imagery of the respective cities where the universities were situated. Additionally, my creative director offered me guidance on what to search for during this process. Once I had obtained the appropriate images, I utilized Photoshop to enhance their brightness and employed the new AI feature to remove certain objects, such as people, from the backgrounds. Subsequently, I incorporated the schools' logos, positioning them either in the top right or left corner of the images.

Social Media Posts

Santa Clara University

When I received this project, I was provided with a Word document containing relevant information for the social media posts. I carefully reviewed the document and initiated the brainstorming process to determine suitable images for the posts. By extracting keywords from the document, I conducted research to find a photo that aligned with the desired content.

To ensure a cohesive design, I also familiarized myself with the company's brand guidelines. In the case of Santa Clara University, being a business school with a focus on data, I specifically searched for images depicting data and graphs that would resonate with the school's identity. Once I identified the appropriate image, I proceeded to create the social media posts tailored for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories. Throughout the design process, I incorporated multiple revisions to refine the final result, which is the culmination of my efforts.

I took the same process to complete these when I received this project. I was provided with a Word document containing relevant information for the social media posts. I carefully reviewed the document and initiated the brainstorming process to determine suitable images for the posts. By extracting keywords from the document, I conducted research to find a photo that aligned with the desired content.

To ensure a cohesive design, I also familiarized myself with the company's brand guidelines. This time, the University of Pittsburgh is focusing on its law program. Therefore, I had to search for images that depict students studying. My intention was to create a natural and authentic vibe. After finding the suitable concept, I utilized Adobe Photoshop to enhance the image. Employing the brand colors of the university, I applied a duotone color effect, resembling a filter of sorts. Once I identified the appropriate image, I proceeded to create the social media posts tailored for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories. Throughout the design process, I incorporated multiple revisions to refine the final result, which is the culmination of my efforts.

Yeshiva Katz

When I initially received this project, I had some doubts about the approach I should take to create the design. I carefully went through the word documents provided by the copywriters, thoroughly read them, and began brainstorming ideas for the layout. The social post aimed to promote a cyber security webinar featuring Yeshiva Katz, who is a well-known Program Director of the Online MS in Cybersecurity Program, along with Sivan Tehila. To get a better grasp of the university's identity, I conducted online research and gained insights that helped me determine the direction for designing the social post. I consolidated all the information I gathered and started designing, incorporating visual elements, colors, and ensuring the text followed the university's branding guidelines, resulting in an appealing design.

Faculty Spotlight Header for Marquette University

When I initially received this project, I was uncertain about the approach I should take. However, with the guidance of one of the digital designers at Everspring, I gained invaluable insights on how to tackle this project successfully.

To design the header, I was provided with website links and new brand guidelines from the company, which served as my design framework. The goal was to create a template for featuring Marquette faculty members on the website, ensuring a consistent and organized appearance. In order to achieve this, I conducted thorough research on the university and incorporated various design elements, including the university's colors.

Throughout the process, I developed multiple iterations of the template and sought feedback from other designers. Their critique proved instrumental in generating fresh ideas that I could incorporate into the design. As a result, I ultimately created a brand-aligned template that met the company's guidelines.

New York Institute of Technology Melt Document Branding

When I initially started this project, I was filled with enthusiasm. I was tasked with redesigning four documents that had been poorly laid out using Microsoft Word. These documents contained valuable information, but they needed restructuring to effectively reach the intended audience. As I reviewed the materials, I also discovered that one of them was an infographic that required a redesign.

To begin the process, I conducted online research and utilized the school databases to explore how similar designs had been approached in the past. With all the gathered information, I proceeded to create four new designs that incorporated color, imagery, icons, and layouts, all while adhering to New York Institute of Technology's brand guidelines. Throughout the project, I maintained communication with my creative director, regularly reviewing my work to ensure the effective communication of the messages conveyed in these documents.

Flexco

While working at Flexco, I worked on a wide variety of projects, both digital and print. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of designing for clients and adhering to strict brand guidelines. I created everything from social media posts and banners to printed materials like posters and brochures. Each project provided valuable insights into maintaining brand consistency while meeting the specific needs and preferences of our clients. This diverse experience has significantly enhanced my design skills and adaptability.

SME Conference Posters

For this project, I was assigned to create two posters for an upcoming conference where two of our employees would be speaking. I researched and applied design principles to ensure readability and effective communication of the message. I developed several iterations, incorporating Flexco’s brand colors, to achieve the best possible design.

IABSC Mini Summit Updated Walker Brochure & 2024 Agenda

For the Walker Brochure project, I was assigned to create a fresh, updated brochure design with new graphics for clients visiting the company for tours. The old brochure was outdated and needed a refresh. I conducted research and went through multiple iterations to develop a clean, modern look. I also printed the brochure to ensure all the folds aligned correctly, using the C-fold method. The colors, imagery, and content all fit perfectly.

Another edition of the IABSC summit hosted by Flexco, I was tasked with creating a fresh, new look for the event, themed around “airport.” I was provided with a detailed agenda, including the schedule and activities. I conducted thorough research to find the best images and incorporated various logos provided to me. To ensure everything aligned perfectly when folded, I printed out the design. This hands-on approach helped me verify that all the graphics were correctly positioned and the final product met the high standards expected for the event.

Connection Banners

For this project, I needed to create a new social media banner for Flexco’s Facebook page using just an image and the company logo. My goal was to develop a fresh look and feel, as the previous banners looked a bit dated. I conducted research and created several iterations, eventually finalizing these new designs.

Flexco Social Media Posts

The first project I tackled at Flexco involved creating social media posts for their Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn profiles. Given the company’s specific demographic, I aimed to design these posts with a fresh perspective to engage both new and returning customers. I researched relevant holidays, developed multiple iterations, and sought feedback before finalizing the designs, all while adhering to Flexco’s brand guidelines.

Novitool® Amigo™ Splice Overview Animation

For this project, I collaborated with a coworker at Flexco who specializes in 3D modeling. My role was to use my Adobe After Effects skills to animate a product called "Novitool® Amigo™ Splice." The animation serves as an overview of the product's features and instructions for effective use.

I received specific instructions on what to animate and used various effects in Adobe After Effects to bring the project to life. To ensure accuracy, I researched the product and consulted experts to understand its functionality. The animation went through several iterations and revisions. After multiple meetings, we finalized a simple, effective overview animation using 3D models and imagery, which we showcased at an upcoming tradeshow event. You can also view this animation on Flexco's YouTube page.

Minexpo 2024 Sticker Submissions

For this project, I was assigned to create special hardhat decal sticker designs for Minexpo 2024, a trade show sponsored by the National Mining Association. This event showcases the latest technologies, machinery, and equipment for the coal, metal, and nonmetal mining industries. The designs needed to be tough and durable, so I created several iterations, experimenting with colors, shapes, and typography, all while adhering to Flexco's brand guidelines. I narrowed it down to two designs, refined them, and submitted them for a chance to be featured at the expo.
